About Me
Am from Hawai'i but work here in Okinawa. Okinawan food is terrific - soki, tebichi, goya, chanpurus, jirus, rafute. But at times I really do miss the foods of Hawai'i, those that I grew up with. So I cook things I miss, a mix of Hawai'ian local-style and simple Cantonese cooking. Pix of my granddaughter hamming it up at Jimbo.

cool shells!
ditto...WAY COOL!
What kind of shell are the two stick-looking things in the middle? lol
Diner "E" said he noticed when he visited Yomitan, and Okinawa in general, he noticed hardly anyone swimming at the beaches. Is there a reason for that? The waters sure look beautiful and similar to ours.
What kind of dangers are there at Okinawan beaches? Jellyfish? Wana? Sharks?
HwnOki,
Yeah lasted only 4 months. Unfortunately all the efforts to make things run smoothly in Guam took its toll on me and I asked to return back to Honolulu. Still keeping my eyes open for opportunities though, hopefully one day soon I'll be there in the land of andagi.
pomai - All of what you said about why there's not too much swimming at any beach here. What swimming that is done is usually in netted sandy areas. Get some mean critters here in the rocks, reefs and waters. Scuba divers have no problems with their wetsuits, so it's a popular sport here and they go all over.
would take years to find that many shells around Waikiki. Remember before, some local people use to find enough shells that they kept them in display cases, even.
you can't find shells like that in hawaii anymore, too many tourist will snatch em up
doodoo and pomai - Can't post comments to your sites!
