Lunch today...

Was pouring all last night and this morning, but it stopped at lunch time. So I took a couple of my foremen to lunch. This is a soba place called Hanaori in Yomitan on Rte. 6 near the front gate of Torii Station.

I had the Tebichi (pig's feet) Soba, ¥600

Chibana-san had the Nakami (pork tripe) Soba, ¥600

Isa-san had the Yasai (vegetable) Soba, ¥700

And here's my Tebichi Soba when I was finished.

off topic, however, I'm not sure whether I've ever eaten soba.

RONW - Get plenty places that sell soba in Honolulu. But probably mainland Japan soba, made from buckwheat. Okinawan soba is made from wheat. There's probably some Okinawan restaurants that have Okinawan soba.

I love the last picture . . . especially with the unused hashi placed juuuust right on the edge of the bowl. Funny.

jalna - it's used chopsticks. some folks put their chopsticks back into the wrapper after eating. learned to do that from Chibana-san.

That's so interesting . . . I like that. My wrapper usually becomes a crumpled ball as soon as I remove the chopstick.
