Lunch at Sun Toguchi...

Took three of my workers to lunch at Sun Toguchi today - two foremen (Isa-san & Kinjo-san) and one secretary (Miyuki-san). Very good workers and I want to do it for them. After all they make me look good. I had the ebi tempura. Also included homemade chicken noodle soup. Was good, I'm a sucker for ebi - ¥800

All three of them had soki soba. I think they want to compare since it's new people running it now. They said it was OK - ¥650

I just had a thought...maybe you already answered this but....

When you're out eating with worker/other people, do they ever think it odd that you want to photograph the food? Not only yours but theirs also? I take it that they don't know about your blog.

I am from Okinawa originally and enjoy seeing the photos of the food. It makes me hungry and miss Okinawa so much though! Sorry to hear you are leaving Okinawa, but hope you'll continue sharing good eats wherever you go.

Well RONW, I get away with it because they think "Oh! Look at the short japanese person with the camera!" (an italian guy even said Konichiwa! to me once).

I don't even look japanese.

There is no way they could mistake Nate for one of "us" unless he's shooting with an overpriced digital. I bet he takes 1 shot and that's it. I take at least a dozen.

Rowena - My people/workers/friends know about me and my blog. My camera is a small one, Nikon S550 and I take a couple pics each of a dish.

looks delicious! I usually take my pic of food so fast most people ask me if I'm going to photograph it and I reply, "already did".
